Seeder's Comments:
It seems that more and more these days, FOX News is nothing more than a national platform, or conduit, for lies, distortions, and disinformation. Some would even say 'a bunch of unscrupulous liars' and that statement might not be that far from the truth.
One might ask how they get away with constantly skewing the news, but in 2003 the Florida Court of Appeals declared that there was nothing illegal about lying in the news unless such misreporting is about a 'crime' or a 'catastrophe'. Basically, it gave this fast and loose 'news organization' carte blanche to lie and lie and lie.
Just recently, FOX News reported that other mainstream journalists were being used as human shields in Libya, only to be absolutely and categorically refuted by the very same journalists that were allegedly being used as shields.
On that note, I saw this article that was originally published late last year, but it wasn't widely distributed, or reported enough, about FOX News and their Top 10 Lies. It's a good read and I wanted to share it here today.
By the way, this seed links to video of each of the Top 10 it lists. Good stuff, backed up with documented evidence.
Excerpt from Story:
Unless you're a bit brain-damaged, it shouldn't come as too much of a shock that Fox News occasionally plays fast and loose with the truth. Occasionally they will distort, creatively edit, or even fabricate evidence to support their narrative. But don't worry, you're not the only one screaming at your television.
Unfortunately, there is nothing illegal with what Fox News does (well, kind of). In 2003, the Florida Court of Appeals agreed with Fox News that it is not illegal to distort or falsify the news in the United States, but there is a lot of gray area.
